Yesar at OECD Marshall BuildingHello! Welcome to this blog where I share with you my ideas and opinions on matters of energy, economics, and current affairs. Rest assured, there will be some fun too!

It is no secret that where you come from influences you; being from the Middle East and Iraq in particular, you can not simply but spot the interactions between energy and people’s life. Thus, early in my studies as a petroleum engineer in Malaysia, I showed an undeniable enthusiasm for the economics and politics of oil.

This interest has taken me from the deserts of Iraq, where I worked at different oil fields, to Paris to pursue an MSc in Petroleum Economics & Management at the IFP School. Paris is a special place for those of us who are greatly occupied with energy matters for being the headquarters for the International Energy Agency (IEA), a global authority on energy. Furthermore, I have the privilege of supporting the activities of the Iraq Energy Institute as a non-resident research fellow.

I want to keep this short and sweet in two paragraphs. If you are interested in learning more about me, please do visit my LinkedIn profile or contact me directly.
